Prevention Strategies
There are numerous personal and socially conscious ways YOU CAN prevent the transmission of HIV and other sexually transmitted diseases:
- Become educated on symptoms, modes of transmission and risk behaviors
- GET TESTED, get information on safe practices, seek treatment for infections and speak to health care personnel
- Engage in healthy habits:
- USE PROTECTION and practice safer sex
- Delay sexual debut
- Minimize exposure
- Communicate with your partner
- Spread AWARENESS
- Organize a walk or movement to bring awareness around the issue
- Publicize World AIDS Day, December 1st
